THE ORGANIZING COMMITTE FOR THE MUSIC FESTIVAL

LOBORFEST

invites contributions in a

C O M P E T I T I O N

for original compositions by performing music groups from the regions of Hrvatsko zagorje, north-western Croatia, and western Europe that will be presented at the second festival LOBORFEST 2010. in Lobor, on 25.07.2010.

The festival will feature compositions that have been entered for the competition and have been selected for presentation by an expert panel of judges. The competition will commence on the date of its announcement in the media and the judges will consider only contributions that have reached their office no later than 02.05.2010.

Competition guidelines:

• festival will feature two (2) types of compositions: one original composition with no prior on-air or festival performance
• one adapted (traditional or more recent) composition in the kajkavian dialect or in the language of its author’s country of origin
• original compositions have to be:

1. 1. vocals and instrumentals, song lyrics in the kajkavian dialect or in the language of the author’s country of origin
   2. polka or waltz rhythm, with the typical “oberkreiner” character, and performed with instruments that are characteristic for this style of music
   3. not to exceed 3′30″ minutes in length and are to include
   4. drums and electronic equipment are not warranted

• baritone is to be included, ideally, in at least one of the compositions’ performances
• compositions will be presented at the festival in a live-performance
• authors and performing artists are expected to waive their authorship rights for the performance of their compositions at the festival – including live, on-air and on-screen presentations as well as radio and TV taping; they will retain all other authorship rights.
• entering the competition authors automatically vouch for the originality of their work and their authorship.

Registration should include:

1. Demo – or – final studio master recording with vocals.
2. song lyrics in triplicate – each copy signed by the author of the text, music and musical arrangement.
3. signed music score with text entries.
4. performing artists’ short biography and contact person data (name, address, phone, E-mail)

All contributions will be screened, evaluated and the candidates will be subsequently notified of the selection results.

The finalists whose compositions have been included in the program will be required to send their final studio recording to the festival organisers by 06.06.2010.

International project “Loborfest” starts with the goal of preserving the original Zagorje music, music of the alpine geographic backgrounds, music of polka and waltz as part of Zagorje, and also Croatian cultural heritage.

The idea was developed from our traditional event, “Janine”, which is already 6 years held in Lobor in the week of St. Ana (the protector of the parish and municipalities Lobor) and thus brings together people of all Zagorje and beyond. The event is of a culture and fun character and is very well visited. Four years, as part of the event, the review of music composition is held, which each year brings together 15 bands from the north-western Croatia that promotes Zagorje and “oberkrainer” music. It is this review, but an appearance in neighboring Slovenia and Austria on similar festivals too, which aroused a desire in us to turn this events into something more beautiful, richer, wider. For this purpose, Lobor-based association called “Loborfest” was established, whose founders are working continuously for a year and a half on the implementation of this project. Festival “Loborfest” is of an international character, adn in the future it will be held on weekends before the event “Janine”.

The duration of the festival is designed in two days. The first day (Saturday) will be conducted with the country or the partner city with the presentation of cultural traditions and economy of town or region from which the partner comes. The second day (Sunday) is the day of the festival, which begins at 01:00 pm. After the festival, committee decides on the winner of the audience and the professional jury, with an appearance of attractive ensembles from the alpine climate and entertainment for all lovers of this type of music. Through this project we want to come together with people and countries that promotes this type of music, and thus set the foundations of a healthier European climate and future economic ties and relations.

UPRAVNI ODBOR GLAZBENOG FESTIVALA

za nove skladbe glazbenih sastava s područja: Hrvatskog zagorja, sjeverozapadne Hrvatske te iz zapadne Europe koje će biti izvedene na 2. festivalu  LOBORFEST 2010 koji će se održati u Loboru 25.07.2010.god.
Na festivalu će se izvesti skladbe koje će odabrati stručni sud temeljem raspisanog natječaja. Natječaj je otvoren danom objave u medijima, a stručni sud će u obzir za odabir uzeti skladbe koje na natječaj stignu najkasnije do 02.05.2010.god.

Uvjeti natječaja:

• na festivalu će se izvesti 2 (dvije) skladbe i to: jedna nova autorska skladba dosad neizvođena i neobjavljena na nekom nosaču zvuka ili festivalu
• jedna postojeća skladba (već objavljena) na kajkavskom narječju ili jeziku izvođača            (tradicionalna ili pjesma novijeg datuma) u vlastitoj obradi
• nova autorska skladba mora biti:

•  
  1. vokalno-instrumentalna, na kajkavskom narječju ili na jeziku zemlje iz koje dolazi izvođač
  2. u ritmu polke ili valcera, sa prepoznatljivim oberkreiner karakterom i samim time izvedena instrumentima karakterističnim za taj stil glazbe
  3. u trajanju do 3′30” minute
  4. u obzir ne dolaze bubnjevi i elektronska glazbala

• poželjno je da druga pjesma bude izvedena baritonom u slučaju da prva (nova) skladba bude snimljena i izvedena bez baritona
• na festivalu će glazbeni sastavi pjesme izvoditi uživo
• izvođači će skladbe izvoditi u narodnim nošnjama kraja iz kojeg dolaze
• autori i izvođači odriču se autorskih prava za izvođenje na festivalu, za radio i TV prijenos-snimku,  te za zajednički festivalski nosač zvuka i slike, a sva ostala autorska prava autori i izvođači zadržavaju.
• autori slanjem skladbe na natječaj jamče za njezinu originalnost

Prijava treba sadržavati:

1. Radnu (demo) snimku ili finalni studijski proizvod (master) sa snimljenim vokalima.
2. Tekst pjesme u 3 (tri) primjerka sa potpisanim autorima teksta, glazbe i aranžmana.
3. Notni zapis osnovne melodijske linije sa potpisanim tekstom i akordima.
4. Kratku biografiju izvođača sa podacima kontakt osobe (adresa, broj telefona, mail)

Pristigle pjesme pregledat će i preslušati organizator i odabrati skladbe za festival te obavijestiti izvođače o rezultatima natječaja.
   
Izvođači čije skladbe ocjenjivački sud uvrsti u program festivala trebaju finalnu studijsku snimku skladbe dostaviti organizatoru festivala do 06.06.2010.god.
